Welcome to City Safaris!

City Safaris explore a city's commercial, industrial and transport legacy on foot, guided by an expert, and also use the local public transport system which, in itself, is a part of the experience.

Our groups are deliberately kept small so that everyone has a chance to ask the leader questions as we go.

We tend to go away for a long weekend and stay together as a group at a reasonable hotel.  On three night trips a dinner is held on the first evening which is a chance for new members to be introduced and old friends to catch up on news. Over coffee there is a short talk to introduce the city and its history as well as to explain the programme.

We use whatever public transport is available, assuming that by walking and travelling as the locals do, we will have a better understanding of how the city works. We always include a stop for coffee as well as a longish lunch break.  Some use the time to do their own thing, some shop while others explore the transport system further or other aspects of the city.
